I provide individual, group, and couples counseling to adults and teens. Holding a deep respect for each person's unique value and wisdom, I focus my efforts on the changes each of my clients wants to see in themselves and their lives.
While I use a wide variety of clinical techniques, common themes in my approach include bringing together seemingly conflicting needs, such as self-acceptance and desire for change, to create space and energy for both. I rely on mindful awareness of the present and encourage bringing physical awareness and wisdom to mental and emotional work, providing exercises for practice in and out of session when needed. Above all, I invite my clients to hold their deepest hopes as the guiding vision for our work.
I have worked for more than ten years as a clinical social worker and psychotherapist in the fields of mental health, domestic violence, traumatic loss, and grief. I have been working for the past nine years as a psychotherapist through Unity Behavioral Health, and for the past four years as a clinical supervisor. Before obtaining my social work degree from Bryn Mawr College in 2003 I worked in the fields of alternative dispute resolution, resource development, non-profit administration consulting, and music.
